Tracy was gardening in the front yard when she noticed her neighbor returning home. She had known Lynn for a long time as they had raised their families in the same neighborhood for 25 years.

As Lynn got out of her car, she carried a pile of junk mail and waved with a disgusted look. Tracy shouted and waved back, "What's with the face?"

"I am shocked with all this Medicare mail we get every fall!" Lynn exclaimed. "How is anybody supposed to make heads or tails out of all this information? Would any of this benefit us?" Tracy calmly replied that she and her husband never bother with those annual Medicare offers. "We ignore the ads because we have Certified Medicare Planners® who look out for us every year. We provide updated medication and doctor lists, and all the research is done for us. Then they let us know if we need to make a plan change that would benefit us. We know our Medicare decisions are in good hands."

Lynn's eyes widened as Tracy continued, "And if we have questions about something we see advertised, we consult them first to get all the facts about what we hear. Sometimes the ads don't tell you everything!"

"Well, we're ready for someone to make it easy for us, too!" Replied Lynn as she went to Tracy's garbage bin to discard her junk mail. "Tell us who to call!"

Tracy says, "The Medicare experts at American Retirement Advisors and 123Easy Medicare. Their advisors were voted The Best of the Desert, and they can help nationwide."

Do you know someone who's confused by all the advertising? Have they been putting off doing anything, even if a change might benefit them? We are scheduling Free Medicare reviews now. Looking for answers, just give us a call! We are ready to help.

Lynn smiled and headed over to the unfinished garden and her favorite neighbor.

Easy Eddie's Take

David's story about Tracy and Lynn is exactly what I see every October through December 7th during Medicare Annual Open Enrollment. Most people ask me, "How do I know if I should switch my Medicare plan?" and the answer depends on whether you have Medicare Advantage or Original Medicare with a Medigap supplement policy. Here's the good news: a Certified Medicare Planner® can compare your current prescription drug costs, doctor networks, and out-of-pocket maximums against what's available for 2026.

Think of it this way: Medicare Part D prescription drug plans change their formularies and pricing every year, and Medicare Advantage plans often adjust their provider networks and covered benefits. What worked great in 2025 might cost you hundreds more in 2026 if you don't review your options. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requires all plans to send you an Annual Notice of Change by September 30th, but those letters can be confusing.

A professional Medicare review takes the guesswork out of comparing Part D plans, Medicare Advantage options, and Medigap policies so you can make the best choice for your specific medications and doctors. Once you see how it all fits together, it's actually pretty straightforward.
