OK! It's time to get over the winter doldrums! It's spring and if you're stuck in a rut, it's time to bust a move! Take a chance, have an adventure!
It's migration season for many birds and if you want to help them along their trip north, put out some feeders! Hummingbirds are easy; just some plain old sugar water, no red dye necessary! Stick a pan of birdseed out in the yard and grab your camera! If you make it, they will come!
Now that the weather is cooperating, how about an old-fashioned picnic? Come on! When is the last time you had an honest to goodness toss-a-blanket-on-the-ground with a basket that Yogi Bear would love to help you with? Keep it simple with a bottle of wine and some fruit and cheese. Kidnap a few friends as a last-minute surprise to go with you!
When is the last time you flew a kite, got some soapy water, and blew bubbles, or planted a tree? Looking to try a new outdoor sport? How about frisbee golf or pickleball? How about a hike? Make sure you take a bottle of water and a plastic bag so you can help police the trash along the way and be a good trail steward. Maybe a trip to visit babies at the local farm or zoo? It is spring, after all, when there's lots of little furry friends being born.
The point is, if you're stuck in a rut, you can do something about it! Get going!
Any day is a great day for flowers!

Easy Eddie's Take
David's right about getting out of that winter rut! Here's the good news about staying active in retirement: physical activities like hiking, pickleball, and even bird watching can help you maintain those Medicare Part B benefits that reward healthy lifestyle choices. Most people are surprised when they learn that many Medicare Advantage plans in 2026 actually include wellness programs and gym memberships at no extra cost.
If you're thinking about trying new activities like pickleball (which is huge here in Arizona), check with your doctor first, especially if you have any Medicare Supplement insurance that covers physical therapy. And here's something practical: many Arizona state parks offer senior discounts on annual passes, and some local recreation centers have specialized programs for adults 65 and older. A little spring adventure today can keep you healthier and happier tomorrow!
