Yesterday I told you Eddie and Betty were keeping a secret, and that Betty had earned the right to break it herself. I keep my promises. Betty, the microphone is yours.
"We are coming to the big screen! One day only, two showings, and you are all invited. Eddie has already picked out what he is wearing. It is the blue blazer. It is always the blue blazer."
There it is. The two voices you have been listening to all summer are stepping out of your earbuds and onto a screen considerably larger than the one in your pocket.
What exactly is happening on October 2?
On Friday, October 2, we are hosting a public education workshop about Medicare's fall enrollment season, and for the first time ever, Eddie and Betty will be part of the show, up on the big screen, alongside the advisors you have been reading about in these pages all summer.
One day. Two showings. Just like a proper premiere:
- 10:30 AM at the Foothills Branch Library in Glendale
- 2:30 PM at the Mustang Library in Scottsdale
Same program at both, so pick whichever side of the Valley suits you. Each session runs about an hour, and then our advisors stay for your questions.
What will Eddie and Betty actually do?
You found them through the podcast. You have gotten to know them one morning at a time, Betty asking the question you were already thinking, Eddie doing the math out loud. Now you get to watch them do it in a room full of people, trading questions with our advisors live on the big screen.
I have seen a little of what they are preparing. I will only say that Betty has opinions about how enrollment season gets explained to people, and she is finally getting a screen big enough to share them.
Why a workshop, and why now?
Because Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period opens October 15, and every fall we watch smart, capable people get buried in mailers and television commercials that all promise everything and explain nothing. This is the antidote: a plain-English hour, in a public library, where the whole point is that you leave understanding how this actually works. Our advisors will walk through it live, the way they do across the table every day, and Eddie and Betty will make sure nobody's eyes glaze over.
It is educational from start to finish. Nobody is selling anything from that stage. Bring your questions, bring your spouse, bring the neighbor who forwarded you this article.
