Many of our clients will ask, "Which is more popular? A Medicare Advantage Plan or Original Medicare with a Medicare Supplement and a drug plan?"
Insurance company marketing has incorporated 'popularity' into a person's decision when choosing a plan.
But what's 'cool' isn't a reason to pick a plan. What's 'cool' is finding a plan that provides all the benefits they need at a cost they can afford.
Want to make the transition easy for employees leaving their group plan and help them feel 'cool' when they leave? Partner with Certified Medicare Planners® trained to help employees confidently leave their group plan and move to Medicare stress-free.
Certified Medicare Planners® like us, guide based on facts and a person's individual needs when acting as a Medicare fiduciary. Ensuring people understand their options is paramount, so we suggest starting with Medicare education. Then our advisors qualify a person's needs, and together they explore which plans provide coverage for meeting those needs.
Helping folks maintain their wellness goals, keeping their doctors, and managing their costs should be the priority in picking a plan. Not being guided by the marketing they see on TV telling them what they should choose.
By the way, you'll look 'cool' recommending experts to help simplify everything for them. (wink, wink)
Need guidance on how to support your employees? Medicare questions with helpful solutions? Our Certified Medicare Planners® have over 20 years of experience helping employees create Medicare transition plans BEFORE they need to enroll. We are ready to help!

Easy Eddie's Take
This really hits the nail on the head here. I talk to people all the time who say, "My neighbor loves their Medicare Advantage plan, so I should get one too." But here's the thing: what works for your neighbor might not work for you. Medicare Advantage plans have specific provider networks, and if your doctor isn't in that network, you could be looking at much higher costs or having to find a new physician entirely.
Let's take a look at the real choice you're making. Original Medicare (Parts A and B) with a Medicare Supplement plan gives you the freedom to see any doctor who accepts Medicare, anywhere in the country. Medicare Advantage plans often cost less upfront but may have higher out-of-pocket costs when you actually need care, plus you're limited to their network of providers. Most people are surprised when they learn that Medicare Advantage plans can change their benefits, costs, and provider networks every year during the annual Open Enrollment Period from October 15 to December 7.
Think of it this way: the "coolest" plan is the one that covers your specific medications, includes your current doctors, and fits your budget. A little homework now can save you thousands of dollars and a lot of headaches later.
